Category Notes

Herewith a brief overview of the categories I use to help you find what is most relevant to you. There is a degree of overlap, and this is very much work in progress.

The first few relate to running:

Dr Derek – here you will find my more irreverent and humorous posts. Definitely not to be taken too seriously!

Psychology in Motion – posts with a predominantly psychological theme.

Technical Bits – mostly posts with a focus on the technical aspects of running and training. I wanted to avoid the use of the word “advice” because that feels too presumptuous and patronising.

Training Log –  accounts of my running and other training ventures, with occasional insights and a bit of humour.

Solo 100km – the story of my challenge to run 100km in 28 days during the first Covid lockdown. A tale of its time.

The following have a traveling vibe:

Big Trip – about my hitch-hike across Europe in 1973, told on a mostly daily basis as if it was happening now.

Bulgaria Life – observations and tales about being in Bulgaria.
