Big Trip Day 26 – Istanbul to Yalova

Today marks the start of Volume 2 of my travelogue. Well, ok then, I started a new notebook to capture my thoughts on this journey. I hear some of those thoughts have wanted to escape for years, but at least now they are getting a bit of fresh air.

It is quite difficult to untangle what is going on. The traditional diary entries are intertwined with passages of a surreal fantasy I was working on at the time, not to mention multiple puerile observations and little nuggets for my muse. Basically, all I did today was catch the afternoon ferry from Istanbul to Yalova, having just missed the morning ferry by a matter of minutes.

Someone I met at the port prior to the crossing recommended a cheap hotel for me. So, that is where I laid my head.

So, a fairly uneventful Day 26, with a leisurely two and a half hour ferry crossing to a different continent – hallo Asia!

As for clues about tomorrow, that is a tricky one. I was sort of travelling through the night, with some little dozes, until I arrived in another town. Tune in tomorrow for more details!
